Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I got an error message. What went wrong?

Blogger2BlogML only works with Blogs that are published by the Blogger system. If you do not use Blogger, or if you use FTP publishing, you may receive an error message.

Also, Blogger2BlogML requires your Blog to support FULL Blog and comment feeds. If yours does not, you may either receive an error message, or some of your content may be cut short or missing from the generated file. To fix the problem, edit the Site Feed settings for your Blog to support FULL Blog and comment feeds and try again.

Why are some of my posts and/or comments cut short or missing from the generated file?

Blogger2BlogML requires your Blog to support FULL Blog and comment feeds. If yours does not, you may either receive an error message, or some of your content may be cut short or missing from the generated file. To fix the problem, edit the Site Feed settings for your Blog to support FULL Blog and comment feeds and try again.

Does Blogger2BlogML export the images or videos I've uploaded to Blogger?

No. Blogger2BlogML currently only exports posts and comments. However, we are planning to offer such functionality in the future.

Can I use Blogger2BlogML to import content into my Blogger Blog?

No. Blogger2BlogML only works to export content FROM your Blogger Blog to other Blog publishing systems. However, we are planning to offer such functionality in the future.

Can I use Blogger2BlogML to export content from someone else's Blog?

Although it may be "technically" possible to export content from someone else's Blog, doing so without the permission of the Blog owner violates the Blogger2BlogML Terms and Conditions of Use.

Blogger2BlogML is not liabile for Blog content exported in violation of our Terms and Services.

Which Blog publishing systems support the generated file format?

Some of the Blog publishing systems that support the BlogML file format include: Community Server, Subtext, BlogEngine.NET, Graffiti, DasBlog, and Single User Blog. There are also tools available for compatibility with WordPress and other well-known Blog publishing systems. Please see the BlogML website for more information.

How do I import the generated file into my new Blog publishing system?

Different Blog publishing systems work in different ways. Please see the documentation for your specific system.
